Peter Tägtgren

Peter Tägtgren is a Swedish musician, producer, and songwriter, primarily known for his work in the heavy metal and industrial genres. Born on July 3, 1971, in Västerås, Sweden, he gained prominence as the frontman of the death metal band Hypocrisy, which he formed in 1991. The band is noted for its melodic death metal sound and concepts exploring themes of science fiction and spirituality. Notable albums include "Abducted" (1996) and "Catch 22" (2002). In addition to Hypocrisy, Tägtgren is the founder of the industrial metal project Pain, established in 1996, which showcases a more electronic and accessible sound. Their hit single "Shut Your Mouth" from the album "Psalms of Extinction" (2003) is particularly recognized. As a producer, Tägtgren has worked with various artists, including Dimmu Borgir and Amon Amarth, contributing to the shaping of the Swedish metal scene.
